Saturday, February 10,  8 AM – 5:30 PM

MULE – Material Unit Lift Enhancer for Masonry Block

Presented by Chris Raddell and Rafael Astacio of Construction Robotics

MULE is a new technology that makes up to 135-pound CMU or similar concrete materials weightless in the masons hands for installation. Demonstration will include programmable software that gives the masons the right “feel” for placing block, reducing or eliminating heaving lifting.  The mason’s productivity can double or triple, reducing the installed cost of material.

WS 2.10 wear liners

Presented by Jimmy True/Brent Hardie of TEMA Isenmann, Inc /Richard Isaacson of iwi group, LLC

Beginning with an introduction to WS 2.10 magnetic wear liners, the demonstration will then show the benefits of using these liners. The presenters will discuss applications where the liners are currently installed.  In addition to demonstrating the ease of installation and replacement, TEMA will have samples for the attendees to “touch and feel.”

Machine Visualization on HoloLens

Presented by Billy Watenpaugh of Zengalt

HoloLens is a cutting edge visualization tool from Microsoft. It is similar to virtual reality, but more advanced and better for collaboration and visualization.  Come check or demo.  We will show machines as holographic images that the audience can view and interact.

Alternative Methods to Lock Out

This presentation will provide practical, essential knowledge about alternative methods to Lock Out, which is often misunderstood and incorrectly implemented.  The presentation will prepare plant personnel for the purchase or upgrade of equipment. The information shared is for anyone working to reduce machine downtime without compromising safety.

Presented by Conrad James, director of manufacturing services at Basalite Building Products, LLC. After receiving a BS in Manufacturing Engineering from Bringham Young University, Conrad was a manufacturing engineer and plant manager for Mutual Materials.

1:45 pm – 2:15pm

Confined Spaces

This session will begin by defining a confined space and will then address the proper ways to work in and around them. Presented by HJ Sipes, a graduate of Pensacola Christian College with a BS in engineering with a mechanical concentration.  As much as Sipes believes in safety, he believes equally in the danger of turning safety into checked boxes and frustrating rules.

2:30 pm – 3:00 pm

Update on Walking/Working Surfaces & Fall Protection

Rules and regulations are constantly changing. In this session, attendees will learn what’s current in the industry and be able to determine what changes, if any, need to be made in a facility to protect yourself and your co-workers.

Jeremy Hargrave, plant manager for Featherlite (ACME Brick) for 11 years, will share his experiences in this session.  Jeremy graduated cum laude from Northwood University and has an MBA from Texas A&M.
